Adult programs at the DMNS are making science even more engaging. The latest event, Ice Age Social, (March 8) opened doors to a sold out crowd. This was my first time checking out an event and I would absolutely recommend it. Paintbrush in hand, we replicated cave art with helpful diagrams illustrating how to draw prehistoric creatures like wooly mammoths and mastodons. After making our way to the bar for a creative cocktail creation, we became captivated by the live jazz music in the open atrium. Once inside the Mammoth and Mastodon exhibit, we wandered among the larger than life-size replicas of mammals, giant bears and saber-toothed cat.

The Ticket Price ($33) is a deal. Admission includes the Mammoths and Mastodons, Live Entertainment, One Cocktail, Ice Cream Bar & Light Appetizers.

Three Reasons to go:

1. Adults Only. As precious as it is to see the excitement on a child’s face when they are looking at some of the oldest artifacts unearthed, it is a completely new experience to take in the exhibit in a serene environment. DMNS only sells an allotted amount of tickets so you aren’t facing lines or crowds at any point during the night

2. Dynamite Atmosphere- From live jazz music to a glowing “fire” in the cave painting room, you can tell the DMNS makes each event unique to the present exhibit.

3. Expand your Knowledge- Educators are present throughout the museum to teach you about the way fossils are preserved and even the ways humans protected themselves from mammoths and mastodons.

Other Adult Programs (21 & up) include the Science Lounge which happen every 3rd Thursday from 6:30-9:30. Nonmember $12, Member $10, Student $10
