Experience Fall Foliage Atop Boreas Pass

Cruise through a tunnel of gold in Breckenridge, CO along Boreas Pass. An abundance of Aspen trees sparkle deep oranges and yellows marking the fall season.  Get a move on because the fall foliage will only be saturating sights for a few more weeks in the high country!

During the Colorado Gold Rush, prospectors used Boreas Pass to truck mine carts between Denver and Leadville. Now mountain bikers, hikers and drivers seek out the 11,000-foot elevation for its unparalleled beauty.

Pack up some delicious eats to enjoy at the top of the 11,000-foot pass that sits along the Continental Divide. At the top you can see and read about the Section House, Ken’s Cabin and a historic Boxcar. Keep your eyes open on the way to the top for the wooden red water tank that once supplied water to miner.

 

Getting There: Take CO-9 south until you see Boreas Pass Road on the left.
