When renowned makeup artist Michael Moore set up to chance the face of makeup there was no better guy for the job. Moore has traveled around the world doing makeup for weddings, magazines, television shows, and high fashion runway shows.  Moore set up shop with a modern studio in Cherry Creek North, Simply Moore, where clients can come in for a customized approach for makeup that matches your skin perfectly.  On a recent trip in, I was refreshed to find makeup artists take time to match shades and find out what your skin care needs and goals are. Whether you choose a powder or liquid you will find it’s free of harmful chemicals. Here’s the scoop.

Q: What do the price points break down to?

Our signature service, a two hour Makeup Lesson, where clients bring all of their skincare, makeup, and makeup tools (brushes, sponges, etc.) to learn application techniques and how to enhance their best features, is $200. A one hour Makeup Application for your special event is $75, and our facials run from $65 to $140. Our other signature service, a Custom Blending where we formulate a foundation that perfectly matches a client’s skin tone, texture, and concerns such as dryness, fine lines, redness, pigmentation, etc., is complimentary, and the actual foundation ranges from $48 to $56 depending on the type. We also offer a wide array of skincare services such as brow shaping, waxing, chemical peels, miocrodermabrasion, body treatments, and airbrush spray tanning.

Q: What makes the formulations stand out from others?

What makes our formulations stand out from others is that we have all natural mineral based products that work with your skin and actually help the skin, as opposed to formulations that use a lot of highly irritating chemicals and fillers. We also are able to custom blend our clients a foundation that EXACTLY matches their skin tone and skin type, as opposed to many ready-to-wear lines that may be a close match but have too much yellow or pink undertones. We can also enhance our foundations to help with dry, oily, or dull skin, fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots, aging, and redness.

Q: What is something readers would be surprised to know about the business?

Readers would be surprised to know that ALL of our makeup is made here in the studio, not just the foundations. Even our own clients are often surprised when they walk in to pick up some makeup or skincare products, and see us actually mixing the eyeshadow pigments, pouring the lipstick, or pressing the blush.
