Review: FabFitFun

By now almost every beauty junkie has heard of Birchbox, the subscription box service that delivers sample-sized products monthly. Capitalizing on Birchbox’s success, similar services have been popping up offering everything from shoes to artisan food ingredients. But I recently tried one that’s put a unique spin on the subscription trend: FabFitFun.

FabFitFun’s VIP program delivers a box of full-size beauty, wellness, fitness and fashion products four times per year (once per season). The box costs just $49.99 per season, yet includes more than $200 in merchandise.

Receiving new products seasonally makes much more sense than every month, since that’s when most people tend to shop anyways. Plus, I love that the products are “full size,” instead of samples, which are gone in one or two uses unless you want to spend additional money.

I recently received the Fall 2014 box from FabFitFun, which included an assortment of goodies that I had so much fun testing out. The first item was a vintage-inspired polka dot Jessica Steele apron, which was super cute with flattering adjustable ties at the waist and neck. Who says you have to look schlumpy while slaving over dinner?

Next up was a new beauty product from Dermalogica: their Skin Hydrating Booster. This truly came just in time since fall’s chilly weather has been drying out my skin. The moisturizer feels amazing, and helps to minimize fine lines while hydrating.

Then I pulled out a thank you card set from Gramr Gratitude Co., complete with sealing wax and a wax press. It’s probably something I would never have purchased on my own, but with the holidays coming up relatively soon I’m sure I’ll find a need for thank you notes!

Other items in the box were Great Soles Pink Ribbon Ballet Bar Ped, ballet-inspired socks that help keep you from slipping during yoga class; Honest Co. Hydrating Shea Butter Cleansing Bar, a luxe blend of coconut, olive and argan oils;  LaNatura Travel Size Body Butter; Beauty for Real True Color Lip Cream (which comes with an LED light and mirror for easy on-the-go application); and CHI 44 Iron Guard, a thermal protection spray from the heat styling geniuses.

I loved the variety in the box, and getting the chance to test out some new items I probably never would have purchased otherwise was fun and affordable. If you want to subscribe and snag one of the Fall 2014 boxes for yourself, head over to FabFitFun!
