Show Us Your Cowboy Campaign

No matter where we live, we’ve all got a little cowboy in us. Admit it: the idea of going to a rodeo sounds slightly amazing. If you’re going to attend a rodeo, might as well make it the biggest and baddest of ‘em all: Cheyenne Frontier Days. CFD is the largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration in the US, and this year Visit Cheyenne is offering you the chance to win a trip to take it all in for yourself.

The #ShowUsYourCowboy photo contest gives rodeo fans the opportunity to show off their best cowboy-inspired looks for the chance to attend CFD and serve as the official Instagrammer for Visit Cheyenne during their time there. Entering is easy. Just grab your cowboy boots, hat, vest, bandana, sheriff’s badge or other wild, wild West gear and snap a photo. Post the photo of your best Western ensemble on Instagram, tagging it with #ShowUsYourCowboy and you’re in the running!

Cheyenne, Wyoming is one of America’s original cowboy towns and the ultimate destination for Western history buffs. Founded on the banks of Crow Creek in July 1867, the city was originally referred to as “Hell on Wheels” because the first businesses to set up shop were the ones that traveled along with the Union Pacific as it broke ground westward across the Great Plains. Most of these businesses were gambling establishments and saloons catering to transient cowboys and local ranch hands.

Today Cheyenne still serves as a major crossroad in the West for the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroads. The booze-swilling cowboys might be gone, but the town’s old West spirit comes to life each year during Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Don’t forget to enter the #ShowUsYourCowboy photo contest for your chance to watch top professionals compete for more than $1 million in prizes at the CFD rodeo, a wild-horse race, square dancing and more this July in Cheyenne.
