Ice Castles

Ice turns into art at the Breckenridge Ice Castles, which feature fairy-tale-like ice towers, tunnels, caves and caverns that are open for exploration at an elevation of 9,600 feet. The castles are especially breathtaking at night, when thousands of LED lights make them glow from within. International Snow Sculpting Championship
This month is your only chance to visit the one-of-a-kind exhibit displaying works by snow artists from around the world. The competition took place Jan. 21 through 25, but you can still see the finished pieces through Feb. 2, 2014. Make the trip to marvel at the incredible things that these talented sculptors are able to create (by hand!) from 12-foot-tall, 20-ton blocks of snow.
