The Ritz-Carlton: The Only AAA Five-Diamond Hotel in Denver
By Lindsey Holliday
Luxury, class and sophistication are just a few words that come to mind when one thinks of the Ritz-Carlton. While there are many top of the line hotels in Denver, the Ritz-Carlton is the only property in Denver, and one of only three in Colorado, to earn the prestigious AAA Five-Diamond award. This year marks the fourth year in a row that the Denver Ritz-Carlton has won Five-Diamond status.
Meeting the criteria to win this award is no small feat. It takes a staff of dedicated, passionate people and great leadership at the top. The requirements to achieve this status are lengthy and intricate. Some categories include cleanliness and condition, management and staff, exterior and public areas, guest rooms, and guest services. Each aspect of the hotel is scrutinized carefully. Meeting all requirements means the establishment is part of an exclusive group of properties across the nation.
It was apparent from the get go why the Denver Ritz is the only hotel in the history of Denver to receive this award. The grounds and hotel are beautiful. But what really sets is apart is the service. Every staff member I came across was courteous and provided service that is above and beyond a normal hotel experience. The General Manager, Steve Janicek, is personable and goes out of his way to make sure guests and staff alike have a superior experience. Steve articulated that, “this award would not be possible without the staff working long hours day in and day out. I thank you for your passion and dedication to the Ritz.”
The Ritz-Carlton is located at 1881 Curtis Street, Denver, CO 80202.
