The Top Summer Skincare Products for Women

Summer is just around the corner and if you’re gearing up to show more skin during the hot and sunny season then it’s important to also protect and nourish your body’s largest organ. From damaging UV rays to environmental toxins, it is easy to damage your skin quickly these days, but luckily there are also a number of excellent products on the market to keep your skin clean, refreshed and damage free. Here are some of the top skincare products that I’m especially loving for women this summer.

1. Avya Skincare

Named for the Sanskrit word for “first rays of the sun,” Avya Skincare does a great job of addressing challenges women with different levels of melanin deal with when it comes to skin health. Melanin can vary immensely depending on your skin type and also determine a lot about skin condition. The line is made up of five complementary formulas that use three key botanical ingredients to deeply penetrate your skin and leave it feeling radiant.  The day and night moisturizers, anti-aging power serum and their eye bright cream are some of my favorites.

2.Bel Essence

Another skin care company to check out this summer if you’re looking for natural and organic ingredients is Bel Essence. They make their products using simple principles and have the philosophy that what you put on your skin does more than just stay on your skin and in reality affects the entire body. So they pack their products with vitamins, minerals and omega 3 and 6 fatty acids that don’t just leave your skin feeling great, but also benefiting from overall body maintenance. Bel Essence builds its products using plant oils including avocado, hemp, argan and rice bran. Some of my favorites to try include the All-Natural Anti-aging, Anti-Wrinkle Eye Lifting and Firming Serum with Almond, Grapeseed, Lavender and Rosehip Oils, the Anti-Aging, Anti-Wrinkle Dry Skin and Eczema Relief Cream and the Skin Restoring, Anti-Aging Body Lotion and Facial Day Moisturizing Serum.

3. PUR Attitude

PUR Attitude products are made by using a waterless process that removes all toxins and unnecessary additives. They also focus on top ingredients and precise formulations to get the top results. One of my favorites by PUR is the Fountain of Youth Serum, which helps my skin feel more refreshed and revitalized as well as younger by minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. It is packed with antioxidants and peptides to deliver deep hydration that is especially necessary when you live in a dry climate like I do in Denver. Another serum in their line I like a lot is the Fusion-C Brightening Serum. It uses four types of Vitamin C to help firm up the skin and also make it look more youthful by lightening age spots and hyper-pigmentation and evening out overall skin tone. The company makes a number of other skin care products to check out including a Purifying Rice Face Wash, a light-weight gel cream moisturizer designed for dry skin known as HydroDrench and a great Energizing Oxygenating Toner.

4.Schique Skincare

If you’re looking for vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free and completely natural skincare products that have been extensively researched Schique is another comprehensive beauty line to check out. Created by Dr. Jacqueline Schaffer, the products all focus on one key ingredient, dandelion, which is known for its varied therapeutic properties and ability to create a radiant glow. From the Pure Clarity Daily Cleanser to the Radiant Glow Daily Face Scrub to the Brilliantly Firm Firming Serum or the Intuitive Restoration Renewing Mask, each of Schnique’s formulas has a very natural feel that also makes my skin look and feel great.

5.Biossance

Biossance is another awesome clean skincare choice. Dubbing themselves the “no-compromise clean skincare brand” they focus on using biotechnology to pioneer their sustainable beauty line. The key ingredient in their line is plant-based squalane, which is a super moisturizing molecule sustainably sourced from sugarcane that is used in all of their products. Recently I tried the newly launched Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum and really liked it. I have very sensitive skin so I normally avoid products with retinol, but this product uses a plant-derived retinol alternative known as Bakuchiol, which offers the benefits of traditional retinol without the irritation I usually experience. Biossance also makes a number of other great products like completely weightless hydration and a dewy glow with the Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil. They also have a Peptide Eye Gel and a Squalane Antioxidant Cleansing Oil I liked.

6. Kerstin Florian

Using technically advanced plant and marine ingredients, Kerstin Florian is a luxury skin choice that is still au natural and holistic. Born and raised in Sweden, Florian’s products are inspired by natural energy and a wellness-based lifestyle. A few of the products I particularly like include the Correction Rescue Creme, which has a rich and nourishing texture and really makes your skin feel less dry the moment it is applied.  While the Correcting Hyaluronic Serum works as an anti-aging multitask product that not only helps moisturize but also soothes inflammation and provides protection from free radicals. After applying my eyes felt less puffy and my entire face felt energized. There’s also a good Rejuvenating Spirulina Masque, Rehydrating Neroli Water and Rejuvenating Anti Stress Oil to try.

7. Circcell

This company was founded by Maya Crothers after she moved from a big city to small-town Jackson Hole. A former engineer, Crothers created Circcell after growing frustrated with skincare products that were inconsistent in performance in different climates. She wanted to make something that would work everywhere, regardless of season or humidity. Using Jackson Hole’s tough environment as her lab, Crothers’ line is carefully formulated to make skin look and feel indulgent wherever you go. The company makes a number of great summer products including the Dew PH Perfector, which combines a primer and hydrating serum to balance your skin’s pH, refine your pores and add radiance to your complexion. Other products I liked included the Extraordinary Face Oil for Anti Aging and the Fruition Brightening Polishing Mask.

8. Feel Skincare Products

Keeping my skin fresh and blemish free is often a challenge when traveling, so I’m always on the lookout for reliable new products. This season I’m liking a number of skincare essentials from This Feel. First off is their Essential Skincare Kit, which comes with three products that leave my skin feeling revitalized. The Renewed cleanser helps remove dirt and unclog pores, while the Harmony lotion hydrates and firms. Finish up with their Refreshed toner to seal in the moisture and tighten pores.

The company also has a great self-warming clay mask called Restored that is great for drawing out dryness and dead cells that are weighing down your skin and keeping it from properly breathing. Apply the clay mask to your face and feel it naturally warm and open your pores using a mix of white charcoal powder to draw out impurities, nigiri sea salt to detoxify and exfoliate without drying out the skin and plenty of Vitamin E and hyaluronic acid to help soften and tone.

Finally, they make a 4x Weekly Facial Mask that I can’t get enough of. Called Brilliant it is an active charcoal sheet mask made from non-woven bamboo that works to detoxify, deeply clean and draw out excess oil and bacteria from pores while leaving your skin feeling toned and hydrated rather than dried out. The mask is pretty addicting, so it is clever they are only sold in four packs so you don’t overuse.
