How To Stay Fit This Year?
Log Your Meals
If you want to make sure you are consuming healthy things only, then you should start leading some form of the journal where you’ll be able to write down everything we’ve eaten that day. When we say anything, we literally mean it. Starting with breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, pre-snacks, etc. This way you will get an insight into your habits and needs and figure out whether you are eating because you are honestly hungry, or because you are bored.
Logging every meal is going to help you form some type of relationship with food and your body is going to be a reminder of everything you consume on a daily basis. Remember, it needs to be treated right!
Say Goodbye To Junk Food!
Oh, yes, we all knew that this horrible moment will eventually come! This is one of the most important steps a person has to make if he or she wants to lose weight in the nearest future. If you do not live alone and that individual is not on a diet, tell him/her to hide it somewhere.
If that’s not done, you’ll be at greater risk of binge eating. You know that famous saying “out of sight, out of mind”. Well, listen to it. If it’s out of reach, it’s going to be much easier for you to follow a certain regime.
If you want to have any snacks beside you, replace junk food with healthier versions, such as fruits, veggies, Greek yogurt, nuts, hummus, etc. These are going to help you curb your appetite.
Get In Shape With These Tactics!
It Shouldn’t Be A Resolution
A lot of people use New Year as an opportunity to write down all their plans for the future, including weight loss journey. They perceive it as a promise to themselves that they will be strong enough to endure everything.
No matter how enchanting this idea may seem to be, don’t do it. New Year’s day is not the only day when you can make a change. Every other is a new chance, possibility, and opportunity to start fresh.
Of course, it’s completely understandable if you want to focus on your body, however, one resolution of this kind is not going to perform miracles. Weight loss is simply a by-product of healthy nutrition, reduced stress, improved style, and generally a high-quality lifestyle.
Work On Your Sleep
Although this may not seem relevant to your weight loss journey, you are seriously wrong if you think that sleep isn’t affecting your body. Many define it as an unsung hero of any diet. How come, you wonder?
Well, when you are asleep, your body unleashes leptin which is giving signals that you are no longer fed and are doing completely fine when it comes to food. So, what happens if our sleep habits are abnormal?
If you’re experiencing sleep deprivation, your body starts releasing a hormone called ghrelin. This hormone is very sneaky and it tells your brain that you are extremely hungry and need to be fed.
So, if you’re awake in the middle of the night, this hormone will suddenly become active, while leptin levels will become pretty low, hence, you will be very hungry the next day. Is there any way you can change that?
Of course, there is! Just reset your clock by moving your bedtime to before 00:00. In the beginning, you will probably wake up earlier than expected, but you’ll get used to it pretty quickly. Soon you will notice how beneficial it is to have a good night’s sleep.
Going on a diet or changing eating habits in any way is never easy, especially if you’re a typical foodie, however, it’s far from possible. It doesn’t mean that you should forget about sweets, candies, snacks, etc. Just modify some things and you’ll achieve your goal faster than you think.
