Ale House at Amato's serves up Chug & Grub
The Ale House at Amato’s is seasoned when it comes to making customers into regulars. The restaurant, owned by Breckenridge Brewery, has become known as Colorado’s craft beer bar because they collaborate with their competitors. The Ale House makes it a point to show off several Colorado craft breweries. On tap you will find 35 Colorado beers along with 5 taps open for beers made outside the state.
A newer event, “Chug & Grub,” showcases another way the Ale House teams up with their competition. On the second Wednesday of each month the Ale House hosts a Colorado brewery for a beer and food pairing. “By day all of us breweries are trying to make best brew. By night night we are sitting back clanking our glasses together,” explains Josh Breckel, Regional Sales Manager for Left Hand Brewing Company.
The Ale House hosted Longmont’s Left Hand Brewing Company for the March event. The tasting is complete with five beers and four smaller sized portions. Kitchen Manager CharleySinden, breaks out his creativity and food expertise to come up with combos made from scratch. When he walks into the 40 person seating room everyone chants, “Charley, Charley, Charley!” The food is that spot on.
Check out this dessert pairing. A lighter spice beer from Left Hand made with ginger, GoodJuJu becomes the JuJu beer mimosa (or “Beermosa”) when mixed with pineapple juice. On the food side is house made pear bread french toast, pineapple butter and hibiscus syrup. All plates were cleared. (There is also a vegetarian menu available for main courses)
The word on Chug & Grub spreads like wildfire and tickets sell out even quicker. You are guaranteed to meet great people and learn back stories from a representative that talks about each beer briefly. The price per person is only 25 dollars. “We are introducing people to craft beer not trying to make money,” says Sinden.

Thanks for the comment Cara! I love idea of “Beer Monday” Whats your favorite beer so far?
Hi Carri!
For years I loathed the taste of anything tasting remotely alcoholic, save saccharine drinks such as heavily fruited daiquiris and margaritas. It attempt to educate and refine my palate, recently my husband and I started participating in what we’ve coined as “Beer Monday” which, of course, takes place on Monday nights. 🙂 We try a new beer each time. It’s been loads of fun, and would you know it? I’m a beer lover!
This place looks incredible! If the beer wasn’t enough to lure you in, the desserts certainly would.
Blessings,
Cara

Thanks for the review. A place I would definitely patronize and refer to others.
