“An Evening of i.c.e.” Gala benefiting The Eating Disorder Foundation
On Friday February 23rd, Denver’s Cable Center will transform into “An Evening of i.c.e.” (I can Eat) to support the Eating Disorder Foundation. Staying true to theme: frosty motif, ice carvings and live entertainment from the nacho men will make sure foundations 1st annual gala brings the support needed to Eating Disorders. The event kicks off National Easting Disorders Awareness Week (Feb 24th-March 3rd).
“Since its inception in 2003, EDF has worked to help break the silence that too often surrounds eating disorders,” states Executive Director Toni Saiber, “Our goal is to play a role in rebuilding lives that have been shattered by the number one killer of all mental illnesses.”
Eating disorders affect more than 11 million people in the United States, more than twice the population of Colorado. Sadly, those numbers continue to grow with no boundaries to age, gender, or race. With classes and support groups for those who have eating disorders, family members of those affected by disorders, or friends who are supporting those going through treatment, A Place of Our Own was established for support and education in a warm and welcoming environment. Offering free weekly support groups, those struggling with eating disorders can seek the help needed to sustain recovery.

Thank you for posting this. We are interested in coming. Would be a great support network for my daughter. What time is the event?
THe Nacho Men- Great Cause- and creative theme. Oh yaaaa!
That’s pretty clever. I like the play on words with “ICE” What a spectacular event!
It’s foundations like the Eating Disorder Foundation that make this mental illness ok to talk about. I have friends who have made incredible progress because of support groups like the ones offered above. I wish I would be in town for the event but will pass along the info. to friends.
My wife has suffered from an eating disorder and I am very happy to know about this event.
