Aviano Coffee Reinvents Customer Experience
If you buzz into Aviano Coffee for a morning cup of joe (or a mean chai tea latte) expect and experience– not just to be rushed out to continue your day. This trendy coffee shop in Cherry Creek North has adopted a “slow coffee bar experience.” Meaning you are greeted by a barista and can watch from the open bar as your coffee/tea/latte/espresso is made fresh. The shop serves Intelligentsia coffee, which is cupped by employees every morning to ensure the freshest beans possible.
“This coffee is naturally sweet without sugar. Which means you need less room for milk and sugar,” said Kyle Glanville former VP of strategy at Intelligentsia. Founded in 1995 in Chicago, Intelligentsia works closely with farmers around the world to get the purest and tastiest coffee possible. 80% of the coffee served at Aviano is also direct trade, which is incredibly important during a time when so many people want to know where their food came from.
“The coffee scene is evolving and changing . More and more it’s about things being handmade and not mechanized,” said shop owner Doug Naiman, who own’s the shop with his wife Saadia. The two envisioned a personalized experience inside the refined industrial space. “It’s about connecting with a barista where you are treated like a guest and not a customer,” said Saaida.
The inside of the coffee shop creates a comfy and classy atmosphere. With a focus on using recycled materials, the space maintains a refined industrial feel. An aircraft hangar is used as the front door and reclaimed was used to construct the walls and tables. “We want you to come in and be excited to show friends how it works so you have something to talk about.
Carri’s Catch: Coffee flights will soon be introduced on the menu. Who says that’s reserved just for beer anyway?
