Two Bulls Walk Into The Brown Palace…
And not just any bulls. We are talking the National Western Stock Show grand champion and champion reserve steer. And they are pretty dang handsome, especially when hoofing it down the red carpet at Denver’s historic Brown Palace.
It’s been a January tradition to bring livestock to the hotel’s grand lobby right before the hotel’s famed high noon tea since 1945 and continues today. Visitors were invited to take photos January 25 from 11 am to 1 pm with the bulls.
The Grand Champions Name is Slugger and was raised by a 13-year old Baylor Bonham of Newcastle, OK. The reserve bull was raised by Lauren May of Mineral Point, Wis.
The championship steer will go up for sale in the Junior Livestock Championship Auction. Last years winner sold for more than $106,000.
The 107th annual stock show runs through January 27th. Check out the full schedule here.
