Take A Look At Canada’s Velodrome To Meet Olympic Standards
We talk with Fulvio Martinez, a representative with the Pan American Games, about the Cisco Velodrome built in Milton, Canada about 45 minutes from Toronto, Canada for the Pan Am Games. The 250 meter track is the first velodrome built in Canada that meets Olympic standards, which means professional Canadian cyclists can train year around without leaving the country months at a time. Post games, the velodrome will also be open to tourists and residents who want to take a lesson and cycle on the track. The building will also serve as a community center with basketball courts and a fitness center.
The Pan Am Games (July 10-26) and Parapan Am Games (August 7-15) will be the largest multi-sport event held in Canada. It features more than 48 sports and also cultural events like concerts and art exhibits.
