Denver Brass Shows Highlight Classic Tunes
Denver’s all-brass ensemble is drawing on Christmas traditions in its “Brass of Christmas Past.” The shows are scheduled for 12/21 and 12/22 at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts. For those attenting, expect Christmas music and stories, but — like all Denver Brass shows — each tune will be performed in a unexpected way. “The ‘Brass of Christmas Past’ honors the traditions we hold near to our hearts during this special season,” said Kathy Brantigan, Executive Director of The Denver Brass. “This year’s show will highlight crowd favorites, songs we’ve all grown up hearing — but they’ll be performed in the unexpected and inspiring way that has become a Denver Brass trademark.
- Shows often involve smoke machines, creative lighting, floor lifts and more — Brass of Christmas Past will also incorporate some of these entertaining effects.
- KEZW’s Rick Crandall will host the show, leading audience members through the performance, from nostalgic classics to quirky holiday tunes.
- Prior to the show, holiday elves will pass out goodies to young attendees.
