Denver Polo Classic Supports Children’s Charities

Denver Polo Classic 2013

Denver Polo Classic

Big hats, specialty drinks and horses. You could almost mistake the Denver Polo Classic for the Kentucky Derby…except that here you can also stomp the divots! Held each year at the Polo Reserve in Littleton, polo goers can watch some of the world’s top players match up either from a grassy lawn or under a shaded tent. Either way it’s an up close look at the equestrian sport.

Denver Polo Classic 2013

Denver Polo Classic is the nation’s largest charitable polo event.

The center of the three-day event is the Championship Day, where final teams compete for the crown. Made up of both local and international players, who fly in just for the event, you are watching some of the best of the best. Dressed in summer style, guests also enjoyed new recipe samplings from some of Denver’s top restaurants. Specialty cocktails created specifically for the event also make the rounds!

Put on by the Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation, the event raises money for children’s charities and at risk youth in Denver. Numbers for this year’s event are still being tallied, but last year the event raised more than $600,000.00 Each year Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation raises nearly 1.2 million dollars for local charities. The group, comprised now of 80 members, has been organizing charitable events for the last 26 years. Other upcoming events include: Brokers Benefiting KidsChristmas For Kids  and the inaugural DA 20/30 golf tournament.  The foundation also accepts donations year around.
