There adventure race scene keeps innovating. The latest race is coming to Denver on May 31 at Dicks Sporting Goods Park. It’s called the Insane Inflatable 5k that– as you guessed– is made up of inflatable obstacles. It will hit 16 cities overall. The race is for everyone from runners coming out with the eye of the tiger to more chill groups that want to take it an easy pace.
When it comes to the obstacles, expect 12 in all. “Pure Misery” is a 100 foot long obstacle testing strength, agility, flexibility and endurance, “Jump Around” is the largest inflatable of its kind with more than 70 feet of bouncing. “Crazy Air” is the steepest slide in the industry– slide down, and catch air off the lip at the bottom which launches up and out, ultimately landing on an inflatable pad.
For racers under 14 there is a ½-mile long Junior Bouncers course.
A portion of the proceeds from the race to The Dumb Friends League of Denver, the largest community-based animal welfare organization in the Rocky Mountain region.
Registration fees: $75 for advance registration, $85 for day of. Junior Bouncers can register for $15. Each event will give back to the community, in which it is held, designating a portion of the proceeds of each local race to a non-profit organization. The race will not be timed- participants will start in waves that begin at 9:00 a.m., and run every half-hour until 1:30p.m. There will be two starting times for the kids’ course at 10:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.

Bounceway To Heaven (Starting Line) – Serving as the starting line, this obstacle challenges you right from the start, with a significant climb up the front side and fun slide down the back. From there, you’re off running and bouncing through the Insane Inflatable 5K.
Bust on Thru – This obstacle is an agility test made up of three tire sections. Competitors must bust on through four sets of doors without falling down.
Tangled Up – One of the most unique obstacles on the course requires runners to pick a lane, take a leap and navigate their way through.
Pure Misery – A 100 foot long obstacle testing strength, agility, flexibility and endurance, this obstacle includes multiple misery inducing challenges.
Lose Yourself – A maze of mesh walls that will confuse and test competitor’s mental skills.
Jump Around – The largest inflatable of its kind has more than 70 feet of bounciness that will get racer’s jumping.
Big Balls – Runners will need to dodge giant flying balls coming directly at them from multiple angles in order to escape and keep running the race.
Electric Slide – An extremely steep, twisting and partially enclosed slide. **Second slides are optional.
Run This Way – A challenge to individuals balance and agility, the obstacle is filled with extremely large holes that will capture runners as they try to navigate to the other side.
Disturbia – A futuristic structure, runners must pick a lane and work their way to the end without hallucinating from optical illusions.
Crazy Air (Finish Line) – The signature inflatable of the event, this obstacle has participants climb to the top of the steepest slide in the industry, slide down, and catch air off the lip at the bottom which launches them up and out to ultimately land on an inflatable pad.
