Firefly Run Set to Light Up Denver Sky

Anymore it seems that a 5K race needs spunk to take off. Hitting the pavement just after sunrise in normal workout gear to race to the finish is boring. Well, at least when you compare a standard road race to the Firefly Run. The race takes off after sunset at Denver’s City Park on August 17. Don’t fear if you are afraid of the dark.  Participants create a mesmerizing scene wearing flashing LED lights (included in registration) to add personality to the race. Thousands of runners are expected to shine through the illuminated course.
Firefly Run spread its wings after a successful turnout in Dallas, TX in 2010. This year the race is glowing in seven cities, including an inaugural run in Denver. Creator, Jerry Su, says he combined his love of running and lights to mold the idea. Gear up your creative side- There will be a costume contest where the most creative costume wins an Apple iPad.
