Georgetown Holiday Trains

The wheels on Georgetown Loop Railroad don’t stop turning in the winter. There are several tours that ring in the holiday cheer. For kids there is Santa’s North Pole Adventure. Jolly Saint Nick Himself greets kids and tells Holiday Tales. Children enjoy homemade cocoa and cookies while looking wide-eyed at Holiday Lights. For adults there is Santa’s North Pole Adventure with wine, eggnog, hot spiced cider and fancy hors d’oeuvors. Riders enjoy classic holiday tunes from guitar players strolling from train car to train car.

In both tours large the old-time steam locomotive windows show off the beauty of the Rocky Mountains surrounding Clear Creek Canyon. The 6 mile ride goes between Georgetown and Silver Plume passing many former gold and silver mines. The trip also offers daredevil views over a 640 foot drop.
