Gift Ideas: Colorado Branded Beanies for Outdoor Lovers
As more and more people seek out Colorado branded attire, knit beanies repping the state flag are making it to the top of wish lists. The concept unexpectedly took off after the executive director of Olde Man Granola, his mom and a few others made one of the beanies for a friend to display at a Colorado farmer’s market. Requests started pouring in and a business idea was born. “It caught on like wildfire and turned into something more than we ever imagined,” said Trevor Plaza, Executive Director of Olde Man Granola.
Originally, the beanies were made by friends and family members of those working for Olde Man Granola but to keep orders filled the company hopes to start a partnership with Hope House. “They help teenage moms and other single moms in need, so we can teach them, give them jobs and hopefully provide them with a little more financial stability,” said Plaza.

Trevor: I love how friendly and active everyone is. The mountains are beautiful and the weather is amazing. It can be 10 degrees and a blizzard on Monday and then 60 degrees with no snow on the ground on Wednesday. That’s great! I’m a very active person. I like to play all kinds of sports and the snow sports in Colorado are the best.
