Isabelle Farms Celebration

Farm to table becomes more deeply rooted each day.  Many Colorado farms are taking full advantage of showcasing their locally grown Products. On September 15, Boulder’s Isabelle Farms will host the Growe Foundation’s day-long celebration of locally grown food.

There are two events: Isabelle Farm Family Day, from 11 am-3 pm, and Jax’s Fish to Farm Dinner, also Sept. 15, 6-9 pm.  Isabelle Farm is a family-run, Certified Organic farm that grows more than 100 varieties of produce.

 

Activities include farm tours, hay rides, zucchini races, pot painting, face painting, and live entertainment Big Red F Restaurant Group chefs will be cooking up a storm including Farm Fresh Gazpacho, a Fire Pit Station (pulled pork and veggie sandwiches,) a Grill Station (corn and other Isabelle Farm veggies,) a Mobil Oyster Station (oysters and peel-and-eat shrimp,) and desserts of course!

Big Red F chefs will also be preparing an intimate, five-course farm dinner that night. Each course of the Jax’s Fish to Farm Dinner will be prepared by a different chef from Jax’s Fish House & Oyster Bar restaurants in Boulder,Denver and Fort Collins.  Wines will be provided by Jack Rabbit Hill Farm Vineyards, including a Jax Rabbit Hill Ultimate Oyster Red and Ultimate Oyster White.  Guests will have an opportunity to meet the chefs and farmers, walk through the fields, and enjoy a dinner with friends, both old and new, while seated at a community table overlooking the farm.

“We held our first farm tour and farm dinner benefit event this time last year,” said Growe Foundation Founder and Director Bryce Brown.  “We were amazed – and incredibly grateful – that more than 400 people attended!  It’s a wonderful, fun, community event.”

1st Course: Half the Garden & Lobster Soup // Dave Query

2nd Course: Tomato Salad- shaved fennel, haukeri turnips, turnip green pesto // Kevin Grossi

3rd Course: Pistou Grilled Prawns- garden ratatouille, basil crema // Sheila Lucero

4th Course: Sweet Onion BBQ King Salmon- stewed okra, cannellini beans, bacon braised greens // Amos Watts

5th Course: Morton’s Orchard Peach Cobbler- alchemy ice cream // Adam Watts
