Music of All Generatios: Jersey Boys Plays in Denver Through Dec. 14
Limited on theatre performances and musicals you will shell out the cash and time for? You may want to rethink your strategy and head out to see Jersey Boys playing at the Denver’s Buell Theatre through Dec. 14. The show, which tells the story of Rock & Roll icons of the Four Seasons, is the kind of show that captures all generations. Not to date anyone, but my mom, grew up with the music of Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. Hits like “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Sherry” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” have stayed mainstream in some ways, connecting a range of generations to be completely captivated the whole show.
The show isn’t just about music and the falsetto tunes of Frankie Valli but also the story of the rock group. To learn the background and struggles this musical group went through on their road to fame is something that can reaffirm something in all of us. That it’s never too late to keep going for that dream and that some of the biggest and best have faced monster sized road blocks. To learn how this musical group reinvented themselves time and time again to stay relevant as well as ways to stay on point is relatable in so many facets of life.
Despite the ups and downs experienced, the crew sold 175 million records worldwide — all before they were 30.
