Maize in the City by Day, Haunted Field of Screams By Night
Fifteen minutes outside of Denver, enjoy a family-friendly corn maze by day and haunted field by night through October 31
It’s time for one of the most fun-inspired holidays of the year: Halloween! Whether you’ve got little kids that love fall activities, or you’re a big kid yourself who wants a good scare, there’s something for all ages at the Maize in the City, located just 15 minutes from Denver.
By day, the Maize in the City offers all kinds of family-friendly fall fun, including a mini maze, a pumpkin field, hayrides, pony rides, a petting zoo, a jumping castle, an air slide and more. Get lost in the Crazed Corn Maze, a 20-acre maze that engages visitors in an entertaining smart phone trivia game. In order to get directions to the next checkpoint, you’ll need to choose a category and answer a question correctly.
Small children will love the mini maze, which alternatively offers paper checkpoints where they can collect hole punches as they navigate their way through the corn field. And don’t worry about the kids getting lost: parents and grandparents get to tag along for free!
In addition to the popular maze, kids love exploring the pumpkin field (free admission) and getting to choose their own pumpkins. On weekends, Maize in the City also offers hayrides, a classic fall activity that everyone can enjoy.
Maize in the City is open during the day from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on weekends. At night, when the kids go to bed, grown ups come out to play as the place transforms in the Haunted Field of Screams, Denver’s largest haunted attraction.
The Haunted Field of Screams boasts three haunted sights. At the Haunted Field, terrified visitors are confined to 35-acres of haunted cornfield, surrounded on all sides by 16-foot-tall cornstalks and terror lurking around every turn. From zombies to clowns and chainsaw-wielding madmen, there’s something to scare even the most confident of visitors.
At the Dead Man’s Night Maze, a revived version of the original corn maze haunt takes visitors through a series of twisted turns, never-ending paths and dead ends. By the time you realize you’re completely lost, it’s too late: the zombies and monsters are already on your trail.
For those looking for a more interactive haunted experience, the Zombie Paintball Massacre takes guests on a moonlight hayride that quickly turns into a zombie invasion. Visitors will have to think fast and use high-powered paintball guns to fight off zombies and save the group from being eaten alive.
Repeat guests shouldn’t roll their eyes and shrug off the scares – Haunted Field of Screams owner and operator Joe Palombo keeps visitors on their toes with new additions each year, including fresh nightmarish characters and new rooms.
