Mile High Farms
Mile High Farms harvests much more than pumpkins. This spot is charming by day and spooky come night. Visitors are first greeted by the Cob Colorado Village, named after the 40 acres of corn sprouting in its backyard. These hand-made houses feature cartoon-like homes, barns and even a general store. The corn maze brings on a country ambiance without leaving you feeling trapped. Stems are low enough at parts to provide views of the entire maze but there are also other areas where the stalks tower over you.
Enjoy a halloween hay ride that will land you smack in the middle of nine acres of thousands of hand-planted pumpkins. Pull your perfect match straight off the vine. Back in the village, there are plenty more activities like a petting zoo, inflatable’s and a rope maze.
The atmosphere the crew creates makes it spectacular. The owner of Mile High Farms, Farmer Dale Ervin, says he looks to kids for some of his creative insight. The life-size lollipops planted throughout the maze were the idea of his four year old daughter.
It’s not just honky tonkin’ for Framer Dale. He also owns Primitive Fear and 13th Street Manor Haunted Houses in Commerce City. He expanded to the country to add Mile High Farms, the Autumn Haunted House and a howling hay ride to his collection.
