New Belgium's Tour De Fat
When it comes to favorites, Colorado must be New Belgium’s favorite state. After all, we are the only ones lucky enough to see the Tour De Fat roll through the streets back to back weekends. The Fort Collins parade is arguably the nuttiest but Denver’s gave it a run for its money. Bike enthusiasts spend weeks and some even months rigging out bikes. Whimsical costumes pedal through the streets to crowds cheering and cheersing along the route. After the ride, bikers converge at a designated park for a long day of craft beer drinking, street food and live music from local bands.
2012 marked the 13th season for Tour De Fat which raises money for local nonprofits that work towards bike advocacy. Here are some pictures that captured the event.
