New Tequila Bar Opens in Denver: The Scoop on La Biblioteca

If going to the library isn’t your idea of a great night out, a new Denver hotspot is sure to change your mind. Richard Sandoval, former owner of al Lado wine bar, is trading in grapes for agave by bringing his NYC- based concept of a “tequila library” right here to Denver! If you prefer margaritas, an artful atmosphere, and Latin street food to books, La Biblioteca tequila bar and lounge is the place for you.

Decorated with dark lighting, red accents, and leather furniture, its ambience creates an ideal spot for a nightcap. “Tequila cages” that are artfully merged with bottles and library-style desk lamps line the walls. You will find over 350 tequilas on the shelves, some of which are aged up to 25 years. There is also a handful of house infused tequilas, including pineapple and red pepper.

The Concept: La Biblioteca provides each guest with a “library card” with which they may “check out” bottles of tequila. They are also given the opportunity to store the tequila in a personal locker. When guests are ready to booze again, they just show their library card to a “librarian” (waitress) to access their bottle. Menu items include sushi, ceviche, and tacos that may be paired with assorted tequilas.

Bonuses: Free Valet Parking; $5 Margarita Mondays; $2 Taco Tuesday; Daily Happy Hour (4-7 p.m.) for $3 Cervezas, $5 Margaritas, and $3-6 Small Plates.
