Q&A with Owner of Etching Expressions
With so many inventive products on the market it’s hard to keep up. And hard to tell which ones are worth investing in. I recently came across Etching Expressions. At first I thought it was going to be another company putting a customized label on a bottle. I was even more intrigued when my Catch Carri customized champagne bottle came in the mail. The design is literally etched into the bottle and filled with color. I am so fascinated by companies like this that take a familiar idea and improve it. We catch up with the owner below.
Q: How did the idea for Etching Expressions come to be?
Michael Mc Carron, the owner, started the company in the early 1990’s exclusively making custom labeled wine bottles. About 10 years age we decided to expand into custom etched wine bottles since etching affords a more higher-end and thus more desirable look as a gift or memento.
Q: What is the biggest challenge in running the business?
The biggest challenge is keeping up with demand and figuring out how to expand to meet customer needs.
Q: And biggest reward?
The biggest reward is the “Wow!” impact our bottles make. We always get such great feedback from customers and recipients on how unexpected, elegant and just plain amazing our custom bottles are.
Q: What is something readers would be surprised to know about you or the company?
We provided custom etched bottles for World Series winners, Superbowl winners, Stanley Cup champions, and Academy Award winners, to just mention a few of the recipients of our work.
Q: What makes you different than competitors?
