Review: Brooks Reflective Running Gear Essential For Travel
Now that the days are getting shorter and it’s getting darker earlier, I’m making sure that I always wear reflective clothing when running outside. Thankfully though, I don’t have to look like a crossing guard! Thanks to front/back 3M Scotchlite retroreflectivity, the Brooks Women’s Nightlife Essential Run Jacket makes staying safe stylish. It has stretch panels for a great fit, soft mesh at the neck and a bold splash of contrast color on each sleeve that make me more visible on my runs after dark. And lets face it- sometimes when running in the a new city or destination, it’s easy to get get caught in the dark. Especially for any adventure traveler!
The Nightlife jacket is also windproof and water repellent with Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating, so I can run anytime, despite the weather report. With internal moisture-proof pockets and two side-zip pockets, I don’t have to worry about my mobile phone or iPod getting water damaged. The only thing I wish it had that it doesn’t is a hood, which might be useful during rain.
Even on sunny days, the Nightlife jacket is my go-to for an outdoor workout: it’s lightweight so I won’t overheat, and a back vent adds breathability. It’s available in an array of colors that pop, from neon green to bright yellow and my favorite, hot pink. Price: $85.
Another Brooks style that matches the Nightlife jacket perfectly is the Essential Capri, which is $65. Color blocking is a major trend that I love right now, and these pants have embraced it with eye-catching combinations in the same colors as the jacket. The pants feature a flattering wide waistband (with an invisible zip pocket for cash, keys, etc.) and are the perfect length, hitting below my knee in just the right spot. The soft, moisture-wicking fabric makes them ideal for a workout, but I could easily wear these to coffee with friends or running errands. They’re amazingly comfortable with flatlock chafe-resistant seams – and just like the Nightlife jacket, they feature front/back 3M Scotchlite retroreflectivity ideal for running at night.
HI..reflective clothes are very useful for riding bike. People are responsible for their own behavior. If someone is dim enough to dress darkly as a night-time pedestrian they may be too dim to buy and use reflective safety clothes.
Reflective fabrics are fabrics that reflect light back a prime example of this is a yellow jacket policemen, and more cyclists wear so people become aware. I believe these are made using polyester shells, also they could incorporate smart/modern materials in which respond to the environment around them hoep this helps
