Review: Skirt Sports Tough Girl Skirt, Gemini Jacket
I’m always on the hunt for clothes that fit my on-the-go lifestyle, so I was really excited to discover the Tough Girl Skirt by Skirt Sports. It’s actually a genius skirt-pant combination that allows you to go from the gym to your daily life without changing. Also great for traveling in style without sacrificing comfort, the Tough Girl Skirt is the perfect alternative to schlumpy sweatpants at the airport. The skirt also comes in a number of cute patterns and colors.
At first I was skeptical about working out in a skirt, but the two panel construction allows for plenty of flexibility. And don’t worry about getting all sweaty – the pants are made of moisture management fabric to keep you dry and comfortable so you don’t feel like must change immediately after your fitness session.
The pants are also beyond comfortable, with flat lock stitching (meaning no chafing) and ultra warm fabric so you can go jogging outside in the winter without freezing. Speaking of running, if that’s your thing then you’ll love that the Tough Girl Skirt has two pockets where you can stuff anything you might need: tissues, a house key, etc. There’s also a Sonic Music Port under the waistband for a headphone cord, because working out without music is definitely not an option.
The only thing I wish I could change about this piece is the silhouette of the built-in pants. I prefer my workout pants to be fitted at the ankles so that it’s easier to tuck them into boots. But otherwise, the fit is perfect and I’m looking forward to packing the Tough Girl Skirt for hiking on an upcoming mountain getaway.
My other favorite piece from Skirt Sports is the Gemini Reversible Jacket. You can flip it inside out and have either the fleece or a water-proof laminate side out, making it wearable for all weather. Two jackets in one? Perfect for saving space in your suitcase. The Gemini jacket comes in a basic black, or for a pop of color you can also buy it in pink. It’s a bit of a splurge at $100, but since it’s weatherproof and can be worn multiple ways, I think it’s worth it.
