Review: tasc Performance
I was recently introduced to tasc Performance, an athletic apparel company that’s changing the activewear game by making cothing from organic bamboo. This makes for natural, super soft fabrics that look good, feel good, and perform really great. After interviewing the company’s founders for a Q&A, I became even more intrigued about this company and wanted to try out some of the clothing for a full report.
Their material feels incredible against the skin, and with four-way stretch, it’s perfect for activities like pilates or just a casual day of running around town. My favorite item was the Pulse Crop capri ($58). Every woman needs a pair of essential work out capris in her closet and this fits the bill. The fabric is supportive but breathable, and they have side pockets for carrying your iPhone, keys, credit card, or whatever you need to bring with you at the gym or while running.
A little more on the feminine side is the Sweet Skirt ($52), perfect for playing tennis with a ball pocket and of course, tasc’s wonderful fabric that keeps you dry and odor-free while hitting balls on the court. I loved the ruffles and unique design details that take this style way beyond classic court looks – it’s a pretty dang cute skirt so be warned you may want to wear it even on your rest days. And there’s no need to limit this pretty piece to just one sport. With inner compression shorts that stay put, you could even wear this piece on a run or to keep style in focus as you run errands around town.
From tasc Performance’s tops, I loved the Hot Stuff Tank ($38). It offers a little more coverage in the back than your typical fitness tank, along with a heavy fabric for support and princess seaming for a slim silhouette. The texture blocking on the tank adds an extra stylish touch, and there are a few color options that range from neutral to bright.
While the Hot Stuff Tank is on heavy rotation in my work out wardrobe right now, when the days get a little chillier this fall my go-to piece is going to be the Cruisin’ ¼ Zip ($68). The pullover comes in some great bold colors and has a very cool asymmetrical zip to bring a little pizzazz into your fitness routine. But it’s not just about looks – the Cruisin ¼ Zip style is just as functional as it is fashionable. There’s a rear zipper pocket for carrying your essentials, and reflective detailing that’s a must when the days start to get shorter.
Overall, I was quite impressed with how well tasc Performance pieces stood up to other apparel. What stood out to me most is comfort- which means this is truly a line you can wear beyond that one hour work out class. It’s nice to know that there are options available that are made with natural fibers, and won’t compromise your routine.
