Sonoda’s Sushi

When I walked into Sonoda’s Sushi I was sure it would be another California roll of a good night. How can you go wrong with such a simple recipe? But the “Tropical Roll” popped off the menu and into my mouth. How could you go wrong with such a creative recipe?

By sitting at the sushi bar, I saw how it rolls in the flavor. The inside layers start with traditional ingredients of crab, veggies and rice. The top is covered with delicate slices of mango and strawberry.  Just the right pick me up for the cooler nights ahead.

The staff at Sonoda’s couldn’t have been more helpful in brushing up my sushi skills. Such as what is sashimi? Answer: Raw fish. Or what is Maki? Answer: When rice is rolled on the ourtisde of a roll. Rice Rollin on the inside is Nori. Just ask and they will tell you with a smile!

The fish here is so impressive you might as well already walk in with your napkin tucked into your shirt. It is flown in fresh each. Of course you can find all the classic rolls here, but Sonda’s is coloring outside the roll, just a little!
