Things you should never wear at the airport security line
The easiest and effective way to get through airport security is to dress right. There are a few accessories and garments, which might expose you to additional screening, thereby curtailing a free progression through the airport securities.
So, what should you not wear in your line of airport security?
Wish to roll through the airport security without any hindrance? Well, you need to avoid a couple of things in your attire. These include:
Shoes, which are not easy to remove
Tanya, an expert reviewer who recently did a ThanksForTheHelp Review, says that she always prefers to wear flip flops or slip-on shoes at the airport. Well, while you are the airport, you’ll be asked to remove your shoes and put them through the screening bin before you make your way through the metal detector. Often it is seen that flyers hold the line when they are constantly fumbling with their strappy sandals or the tangled lace shoes. Moreover, if you are already running, the slip-on shoes are best as you can put them back quickly, and then rush for your flight after making your way through the line of security. This does not apply to the travellers below the age of 13 and those over the age of 75, as they can keep their shoes on during the screening process.
Piercing, Jewelry, or let’s just any metal item
Those of you, who set off at the metal detector are certainly in for some extra screening or to say the least, some unwanted attention while the other flyers just walk past you. From the body piercing to the keys, or the metal clothing fasteners, drop them as these will activate an alarm in the airport security line. Hence, if you are wearing any piercing made of metal, which is not removable, you could rather request a private screening to avoid the long mess. In most cases, the wedding rings pass through the metal detection scanner without raising an alarm.
Belts
If there’s any pant, which might fall if you do not wear a belt with it, it is best to not wear that pant at an airport. You’ll certainly find out why when you are in the airport line. The travellers must get rid of the belts when they walk past the metal detectors. So, either opt for an outfit, which is belt-free or wear tight denim that doesn’t go down if you wear it without the belt. The reason why belts aren’t permitted through the line of airport security is that they have a metal clasp which activates the alarm of the metal detector. Diana, an executive with EduWorldUSA, says that even though she was wearing a belt in the airport security line, which didn’t have a metal clasp, she was told to get rid of the belt. Well, that’s quite possible because this is the standard procedure, which is universally followed at the airports.
Jackets or coats
In the airport screening, you’ll certainly have to remove your jackets and coats. It also includes the outerwear, such as vets, hooded sweatshirts, before passing through the metal detector. Yes, it is okay for you to wear a jacket during winters, but be prepared to remove it before you make your way through the airport screening.
Anything remotely offensive
Trust us when we say this, offensive clothing can get you kicked out of the plane. Not just that, it will put you under the scanner of the TSA agents. It is even possible that the airline staff or the airport security agent will ban you from taking the flight because of your inappropriate clothing. There have been multiple cases when the flyers have been banned from taking the flight because of their horrendous wardrobe choices. In most cases, the trouble starts when you make your way through the airport screening process. If something looks fishy, the airport staff will pull you aside for additional screening. To save yourself from all the embarrassment, always dress properly for your air travel.
