There are plenty of bike events geared toward bike lovers in Colorado. Another event showing the diverse cycling culture in the state is the Tour De Farm coming up this Sunday. Riders will cruise from Ekar Farm to Delaney Farm and return through the High Line Canal Bike Path. Race organizers call it the breadbakset of Denver. “This continues to be a fun, family oriented event that offers folks a great opportunity to explore a few urban farms by bicycle while supporting Ekar’s work,” says Aaron Ney, Ekar’s Executive Director.

The route: Starting at Ekar, the Tour route will stop at Sprout City Farm at Denver Green School for a tour, then on to Delaney Farm for a break and fresh Palisade peaches, and back to Ekar for grilled Colorado Olathe corn, and live Bluegrass music!

This year, the Tour is expanding to include a 5 mile ride with snacks and games at the Lil Farmers Turn for younger riders. https://ekartourdefarm2012.eventbrite.com/

Cost: $25 per rider over 13 yrs, $5 for children under 13 and $70 max fee per family.

All proceeds directly benefit Ekar’s programming and donation of produce to Jewish Family Service’s Weinberg Food Pantry. Ekar Farm is a communal urban farm with the goal of helping those in need eat nutritious farm grown foods.
