Vampires and Citizens Run for Blood in 5K Run
On April 26, 2013, five cities around the country—Dallas, D.C. , L.A., Atlanta and Denver—will run for blood. Vampire 5k is a run that pits Citizens versus Vampires in a race for survival.
The race begins at dusk and ends under a full moon. Participants may register as either a Vampire or Citizen. Citizens in all white start in one location, Vampires in another. The paths converge at an unknown location and then the hunt is on! Vampires will try to “convert” citizens by pulling both white garlic flags they will be carrying while running through fog and red powder zones. Stay around for the post-run Red Dusk after-party with music, red colored beverages, fun awards, and make-up artists on-hand ready to “transform” any willing citizens into new Vampires.
**All locations will be holding a blood drive and accepting donations benefitting the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross is the nation’s largest supplier of blood and is constantly working to increase the availability of blood to hospitals and transfusion centers. More than 44,000 blood donations are needed every day.
