Winter on The Rocks: Already Concert of the Year & 5 Reasons Why
It’s early in 2014 and Red Rocks Ampitheater has already chalked up one of the tops shows for the season. Friday’s 3rd Annual Winter on the Rocks concert with Jurassic 5 and Ghostland Observatory will be the concert the tens of thousands of people will remember all year long. And probably even years after. It was tops- and here’s five reasons why.
1. What other concert can you wear snow suits and goggles to? SinceWinter on the Rocks is outside, everyone was bundled up and ready to party in their puffers all night despite the cold (and the six inches of fresh snow).
2. Dancing got a little crazy. With so much snow, parts of the bleachers were icy which meant people were getting creative with their moves. The “slip ‘n slide” move in particular seemed to be popular. Others took on ice skating to bust a move.
3. Cold beer that stays…. really cold. When you’re at an outdoor concert in Colorado in the winter, there’s zero chance of your beer getting warm (gross). Proof: order a Coors, and you’ll see that the bottle is *always* cold activated.
4. The fire pit kept concertgoers warmed up. As much as we appreciate the outdoor concert thing (and the cold beer), being able to head over to the fire pit to warm up felt amazing.
5. It was a truly unique Colorado experience – no one else dares to throw a concert in the snow – brought to us by a true Colorado company. Thanks Icelantic Skis for a great show!
