Evening Vinyasa Yoga at Denver Botanic Gardens
The outdoor yoga scene is booming across the nation as more people look to practice in the great outdoors. And here in Denver, the yoga movement goes beyond nature when you practice at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Check out the Evening Vinyasa Class to zen and stretch in an environment filled with water, stones and an incredible display of foliage and flowers at the Morrison Center, adjacent to the main gardens, offering a more quiet and serene spot. Classes start at 6:00 p.m. as the sun glimmers over Pipsqueak pond, which anchors the scene for the practice, and closes as stars emerge in a clouded sky, just in time for shavasana.
Blake Burger, a horticulturist at the Garden, initiated the program after receiving his yoga certification three years ago. “Denver has picked up with outdoor yoga but this is a different experience because it’s an enclosed garden where you will find tranquility and peaceful environment.

4 reasons to give outdoor yoga a go.
1. It will invigorate your practice and shake you from a routine studio.
2. Outdoor classes add a new dimension by bringing yoga back to it’s original link with nature.
3. Find inspiration in the outdoors by focusing awareness, breathing deeply and practicing stillness.
4. Learn to embrace rather than battle the elements. A little cool wind can bring stamina, the warmth of the sun may allow you to deepen poses and wavering grass could bring focus.
Looks great. How much longer will it continue?
Hey Paul! It goes all year long. In the winter it’s indoors.
