Gluten-free. Those two words conjure up some strong emotions in people. Some people have a serious gluten intolerance and those two words have to dictate how they will eat for the rest of their lives. And then there are the people who think if the term “gluten-free” is on a product, it must taste like cardboard and they run for the hills. More recently, there seems to be a growing trend of individuals that just want to live healthier lives. With over processed food these days filled with more gluten and chemicals than one would like to imagine, who could blame them.

Growing up, my mother started eating gluten-free before it was trendy. I remember trying some of her gluten-free bread and thinking how it tasted more like my favorite pink Play Doh than bread. Same texture and color. True story.

Well friends, thankfully, those days are behind us. Thanks to Canyon Bakehouse, you can eat gluten-free and not feel deprived of taste or texture. Whether you are battling Celiac Disease, or are just trying to eat clean and live better, Canyon Bakehouse has something for you.

Canyon Bakehouse started in 2009 and is a family owned bakery. They are located right here in beautiful Loveland, CO. With over 1,000 stores nationwide and availability on-line, you don’t need to be a Colorado resident to enjoy this bread. They also offer muffins, hot dog buns, hamburger buns and specialty bread. What’s even more impressive is not only is all of Canyon Bakehouse goodies gluten-free, but they are also dairy, nut and soy free. Only 100% grains, all natural ingredients and love go in to this bread, folks.

I was lucky enough to try the 7-Grain and Cinnamon Raisin bread. I wasn’t sure what I was in for, especially because of my interaction with gluten-free products in the past. But it tasted like, well, it tasted like bread! Which is kind of mind-boggling considering what is not in it. Somehow, the good people of Canyon Bakehouse have mastered the art of gluten-free baking. I would bet no one would ever know that their breads and muffins were gluten-free if you didn’t tell them.

Gluten-free doesn’t have to mean taste free. You don’t have to sacrifice soft, fluffy, fresh bread just because of an intolerance or the desire to practice clean eating. Thanks to Canyon Bakehouse, you can have it all.
