Come celebrate the grand re-opening of the Woodward at Copper Barn

Celebrate the grand re-opening of the Woodward at Copper Barn and burn off that turkey dinner at Woodward Remix Friday – Sunday, Nov. 29 – Dec. 1. This grand re-opening event celebrates the new renovations in the Woodward Barn and kicks off the holiday season at Copper Mountain Resort.

Earlier this summer, the Woodward at Copper Barn underwent a half-million dollar renovation that opened the door to BMX, skateboards and slopestyle mountain bikes, skis and snowboards. These renovations include a new beginner foam pit with a 2-foot jump, a pump track designed for the development of park skills, and new programming to bridge the gap and see results on snow. Woodward Remix celebrates these renovations and welcomes the public to take part in free sessions from 12 – 6 p.m., Saturday – Sunday. These modified sessions are available for trampoline, skate and BMX and last 30 minutes. Sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The weekend of events kicks off on Friday, Nov. 29, with the annual Yam Jam Rail Competition from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Skiers and riders of all levels are invited to compete for prizes, and registration is now open.

Woodward at Copper Barn demonstrations will take place in the afternoon with BMX from 2 – 3 p.m. and skate from 4 – 5 p.m. Fans can meet their favorite athletes, including professional skateboarders Red Bull’s Curren Caples and Volcom’s Louie Lopez, and XGames Bronze medalist Jono Schwan. Additionally, professional BMX riders Morgan Wade, Gary Young and XGames Gold medalist Zack Warden will be present. Members of the U.S. Freeskiing and U.S. Snowboarding halfpipe teams will also be in attendance for a meet and greet session at The Barn from 5 – 6 p.m. The action continues in Center Village with the Santa Sesh from 6 – 8 p.m. Guests can participate in or watch an open rail session under the lights, followed by a holiday snowcat parade, the official tree lighting and photos with Shreddin’ Santa. Holiday fireworks round out the evening’s activities in Center Village at 8 p.m. For the late night crowd, the Woodward Barn offers a free concert featuring Paper DiamondTwo Fresh, Raw Russ and DJ Chris Karns from 8:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
