Here are some things to do…
Take a lift up Monarch Mountain for a bit of skiing. With four lifts in operation, you have twenty-five runs to choose from. The staff is set and ready to go from the Ski School and Children’s Center to retail and rental shops.

Captain zip line has opened its new aerial adventure park with more than 120 elements from swinging bridges to catwalks. Accommodating beginners through the advanced, with four climbing tours and of course there is always those zip line tours!
Parade of Lights Christmas Opening and Lighting of Christmas Mountain
Downtown Salida presents The Parade of Christmas Lights, Friday November 29th. Kick off the Christmas season with Santa and the lighting of Christmas Mountain. Salida Steam Plant is offering free hot chocolate and cookies after the parade during their annual holiday open house.

An Equine Parade
Along with the equine parade,, there will also be a chocolate walk, pictures with Santa, and the festival of trees. If you miss any of that, there will be another evening parade on December 7th.
The Artists
Salida will host Holiday First Friday Gallery tour on December 6th from 5-8pm presenting a great time to shop for those gifts. Buena Vista will host the Holiday Art Walk on December 14th from 10am until 8pm. Local galleries celebrate artists and entertainers during the walk.
Hot Springs
You cannot visit Chaffee County without taking advantage of at least one of the area’s hot springs. Options include Mt. Princeton and Cottonwood Hot Springs and Pools or Salida Hot Springs Pool for the little ones.
