  • Outdoor adventure: 75 percent of the land surrounding Rock Springs is public land for boating, hiking, camping, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, off-roading and wildlife viewing – including a rare herd of elk and a herd of wild horses.   
    • Attractions: Killpecker Sand Dunes, Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Flaming Gorge Lake, Historic South Pass and White Mountain Petroglyphs are just a few of the natural attractions in the region. Additionally, Sweetwater County, where Rock Springs is located, has the most still-visible pioneer trails of any place in the United States.
  • Culture: Rock Springs’ Community Fine Arts Center features a changing exhibition schedule of local, regional and national artists. The building that houses the Rock Springs Historical Museum was constructed in 1894 and was first used as the City Hall.
  • Events: The Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs is the hub for some of the most exciting events in the region, including the National High School Finals Rodeo, Wyoming’s Big Show (the county’s fair), Red Desert Rodeo Roundup and more. The International Day celebration held each July in Rock Springs honors the many cultures represented in the city, which has earned it the nickname “Home of 56 Nationalities.”
