Royal Gorge Ziplines

What better way to trek across the Royal Gorge than via zipline? Royal Gorge Zipline Tours opened in Canon City this April and already nearly 12,000 people have harnessed up and held on to zooooom along 9 lines. You will fly across meadows, over ravines and right by wildlife…don’t forget to head wave.

This company has the right idea when it comes to making everyone feel comfortable. The first zipline is “ground school.” After an instructional course teaching everyone the low down on breaking and body position you are ready to take on the skies. The course builds gradually; the first line will fly you 100 feet. Once you see what a breeze this is you will crave even more after zipping 350 feet, and be ready to rumble by the time you reach lengths as long as 1,000 feet. The last line presents dual ziplines, which means get ready to race someone and fly at speeds over 40 miles per hour.

Bonsai Designs laid out the course. The founder of the company went to CU Boulder and has been designing everything from challenge courses, climbing walls, canopy tours and of course thrilling zipline tours since 1992. Sustainability is key to the company by integrating the natural landscape and geography of the land in the course.

Royal Gorge Ziplines is just 7 miles west of Canyon City, 1 hour from Colorado Springs, and 2 hours from Denver.
