Royal Gorge Rafting & Ziplining Tours

Let’s face it, after a day with Royal Gorge Rafting & Ziplining Tours you will be kicking and screaming when it’s time to get on home. To delay this reaction it’s best to take advantage of all the excitement this company serves up.

The owners Ty Seufer and Jimmy Whiteside know what it takes to run a successful business. Ty grew up in Canon City, worked as a rafting guide and eventually opened a couple landscaping businesses. A booming business but Ty could hear the rapids rumbling in Canon City. He says he has always wanted to open a sports bar, and the time came seven years ago. With it, came the perfect duo, as the Royal Gorge Rafting Company opened right along with it. Jimmy came to Colorado from Wisconsin and must have known something big was in store from him here. Together they had every aspect covered.

The first year they were open, 1,000 people took on the rapids down the Arkansas River. Word has really spread, this year the company has geared up over 13,000 people. Fun is not the only priority of this company, so if safety. A support kayaker rides with every trip down the Arkansas River, and down the Bighorn Echo Canon during high water.

The adrenaline flies right on over to the Zipline that the pair opened in April of this year. While in Maui, Ty realized how successful a zipline could be in Canon City and in less than a year he made it happen. The company has completely surpassed their goal of sending 5,000 people down in the first year, to over 10,0000 people.  Your guides will get you “cannonball” and “starfish” ready to take on the 9 ziplines through gorgeous scenery.

The White Water Grill is another reason you just won’t want to leave. The outside is rocking with tetherball, a full size sand volleyball court and horseshoes. The menu will satisfy the appetite you are sure to work up. Ty raises the steers that are served, bread is baked fresh and the brisket is smoked slowly for 18 hours to reach a heavenly perfection.

This is a local business that keeps the local flavor. As Ty says “We love our jobs,” and you are sure to love your upcoming adventure.
