Wine & Chocolate Pairing Sweetens Colorado Mountain Wine Fest

Together at last! There was no shortage of cocoa beans and wines the night before Colorado Mountain Winefest in Palisade, Colorado. The Chocolate and Wine Tasting at the Wine Country Inn displayed Enstrom’s (Made in Grand Junction) & Guittard Chocolates matched perfectly with several Colorado port and dessert wines.

Chocolate is the confectionery match to wine. And for any chocolate lover it may seem like any cocoa bean is fair game to pair with a wine. But with these expert match ups it became clear that some click perfectly without stealing flavors from each other. White Chocolate was paired with Ice Wine and Vintage Ports. Milk Chocolate with Aged Ports and Muscats. And Dark Chocolate with deep red wines. All in a beautifully set Wine Country Inn, a wine-themed hotel set in the middle of acres of vineyards that back up to the towering Bock Cliff mountains. Truly the sweetest kickoff to the largest wine festival in the state!
